No call from the Site Supervisor, but there were Brickies on-site today. I happened to notice 3 guys there on the drive to school, so was excited to think things would progress today. Got a chance to stop and have a quick look on the way back from school pick-up - from what i could … Continue reading Today’s update
Today is the start of Week 19 of our 40 week build! We officially went to construction on the 31st March, our Concrete Slab was laid on the 11th May, our Timber Frames commenced being erected on 15th June and Bricking commenced 4th July. We had a first 'meet & greet' with Shane our Site … Continue reading Week 19
Sadly, no one was at our site today. If we're lucky, the Carpenter might be there tomorrow. Not a drop of rain today or tonight, clear skies and top of 20 degrees.
Just a tad to catch up on!! Nothing much happened after the events of the 30th May, except for an SMS from Ivan the Concrete Manager to advise that as far as he was aware, our frames would be delivered on the 5th June 2017. Cleaners apparently have been arranged to clean up the site, remove rubbish etc, and aside from that, nothing else would really … Continue reading Today’s Update
We're no experts, but we're fairly confident these "pink" markers on our block of land are for the Sewer Peg Out. (Edit: spoke with Clare at Clarendon, and she has confirmed that is infact what they are!) Perimeter fencing belongs to Demo Company, waiting on Clarendon to install their own. In saying that, this is … Continue reading Sewer Peg Out
House Demolition Complete! Hooray!! After what we thought was a harrowing "Contract Negotiation" period, Demolition was definitely more protracted than expected and not the smooth sailing we had hoped for. We did our homework. We felt we chose a company who were not only capable, but were open and upfront about the process, they also … Continue reading Demolition Complete
Our House Demolition in pics, in no particular order... These are the beautiful original 1933 Sandstone foundation blocks of our house, mined from local quarries at the time, that the Demo Guys kindly let us keep and put to the side for us. The plan is to somehow incorporate them into our new home, either … Continue reading Going, going, gone….
